Why I don't care about site stats

I got yet another email last night stating that me reviewing a product depended on my site stats. This prompted me to want to publicly clear the air about this so maybe I did not have to repeat myself over and over again via email.
I do not care about site stats anymore. I spent so much time obsessing over what my Google Rank was and Alexa Rating and how many page visitors I had and OH. MY. GOSH it is so not worth it.
The thing is you are not who your site stats are.
Me being able to do a good and proficient job reviewing a product has nothing to do with site stats.
SHIT, some "well known" bloggers buy site hits and they suck at reviewing products. They are unethical and fix giveaways and copy reviews from other blogger BUT companies will still work with them because they have what is considered "Good" site stats.
Even if the site stats are bought.
You can never accurately gauge a person by their site stats BUT you can tell if they will be a good candidate to review your product by looking at their blog, looking at their Twitter account and getting recommendations from other bloggers.
Bloggers can tell you who to work with and who to stay away from. I enjoy recommending bloggers to companies and it makes me feel good when other blogger recommend me to companies. If you want to know who I trust and think does a beautiful job then just ask!
This is how I wish things worked and in a perfect world they would work this way but they don't. I have had companies flat out refuse to work with me because I could not provide and would not provide site stats because I have no clue what they are nor do I care to know.
I am not defined by a number.
I am not defined by my Google ranking
I am not defined by any of this.
You either want to work with me because you have faith that I will do my very best or you can not work with me because I don't provide sits stats. Either way, I am fine with it.
Now, some of you may say that I feel this way because "My site stats must suck". Seriously, I don't know if they suck and I don't care if they suck. I have had blogs with unbelievable site stats and I have had blogs with horrible site stats and you know what, I did the same job, blogged the same way, no matter what.
I am who I am, I am not defined by a number, take it or leave it.

I also want to add, on a personal note, that I am THANKFUL for the friendships that have become from working with some companies (and bloggers!). I am blessed to know you, I would not hesitate to tell anyone and everyone I know about your product because I not only believe in your product but I believe in the person(s) standing behind that product. To me, building friendships, is what matters the most.
