Your Shape Week 3

So this week has sucked. Not because of the workouts but because I can't do them.
I have a cold. A rotten OMG who knew that your head could hold this much snot cold, and it sucks. Little bit had a stomach bug Sunday night/Monday morning and it looks like I got that too.
Yeah, this week just sucks but I have lost .8 pounds since Monday and that makes me smile.

I have been thinking a lot about the Your Shape challenge this week. After only 2 weeks of doing 15 minute exercises 3 times a week I lost 4 1/2 inches from my waist and 3 inches from my hips. I noticed that my stretchy pants are falling down and The Mat Daddy noticed on Sunday that I was constantly pulling up my jeans and my shirt did not fit as tight as it had two weeks ago. Really I would not have noticed if I had not seen the measurements myself and taken a log hard look at myself in the mirror. Imagine if I can loose 4 1/2 inches in 2 weeks, how many inches could I possibly loose before the beach trip in May!
I actually went into Ann Taylor this week (before my head exploded into a snot filled mess). I love their clothes but since gaining this weight their clothes have not looked as good on me. I saw this dress, one of those OH MY I MUST HAVE IT dresses and tried it on. It looked good. I was very very excited about it but I did not buy it.
"Why the hell not?" you might ask...
Well, I am not there yet. I am in week 3 and I have to go to week 12 and once I get to week 12 (or week 14) I am going to go out and get myself a new dress. A pretty dress that makes me feel all girly and pretty. A dress that I could never wear 2 weeks ago. Hopefully it will be the same dress I saw but on clearance, at a rock bottom price and a size that is a single digit and then I can buy more than one dress!
For now I am just happy that I can go into a regular store and buy a pair of pants and not have to go to the "Big Girl" store. I don't feel like I am stuffing a sausage anymore when I get dressed. I can breathe! Sales people actually want to help me intead of looking at me with the "why is that fat chick here" look. In only 2 weeks, that is a BIG change!

There are some misconceptions about this game that I really want to clear up. Hopefully after reading this you too will want to give the Your Shape a try!
1. You can mute Jenny! If you do not like having her correct you but you like the Your Shape music then you can actually shut her up! You just go into the Settings and then into sounds and there you will see the volume levels for everything. Just lower Jenny and raise the music and you are good to go. I kinda like Jenny yelling at me, some days. Why not kill two birds with one stone and get your work out in AND a good screaming match!
2. The camera does not suck. The placement of the camera sucks. If you are constantly being corrected by Jenny then move the camera. I had mine placed on top of my TV but after hearing what the others had to say after they moved their camera I played with placement as well and was shocked to find out that it worked better if placed lower. The way that the camera is made you can put it anywhere and it will stand alone, without anything attached to it or holding it up so play with it.
3. Your posture sucks. Yes, yet another reason why you are being corrected is because of your posture. You really don't realize just how bad it really is until you really get into doing this workout. If you straighten your back and make a point to improve your posture then you get corrected by Jenny less. So this game is not only helping you loose weight, get in shape and helping you blow off steam but is also improving your posture. It is a Win, Win, Win, Win situation!
4. You cant change your Workouts? **cough** bullshit! I have changed my workouts every time I have started up the game. Every.Single.Time. I have even changed the workout mid workout! Yes, it may have some of the same moves but I can decide what part of my body I want to work on and what workout I want to do. I can do Yoga if I don't want to do a hard workout. I can target my arms even though in initial set up I stated that I wanted to target my core. I can do what ever I want and it is pretty damn cool.
5. You cant do the workout if you have kids at home with you.. again **cough** bullshit! I have turned this workout into a game for my 4 1/2 year old. I have her sit in a chair to the side. She can see me yet she is not in the frame. I then tell her to yell at me. If I stop doing my exercises as long as the lady is on the screen then yell at me to keep going. I tell her to yell at me that I am doing a good job and to keep it up. What kid would NOT want to yell at their parents?? Seriously, she has a blast! She also has her own profile on the Your Shape and she gets to exercise (not well, but she tries) and I yell at her. She ends up laughing so hard after a minute or so that she cant keep working out but she has fun and HEY, I just turned workout time into quality time! Have a younger child? Put them in a High Chair or a bouncer and make faces at them while you work out. Sing a song to them while you work out. Do anything you can to make them laugh while you work out. It will be fun, TRUST ME! If you found the time to read this far and you have a little child then you can do a 15 minute workout. You just have to WANT to do it.

**This week, Operation Fatty is giving away a copy of Your Shape!**
