I know I have not blogged in a long while, things have been crazy and I will get to that later. First I must tell you about a recent experience with Rooms To Go and why you should think twice before purchasing anything from them.
My husband and I were out one day and had some time to kill before an appointment. We decided to stop by Rooms To Go to window shop. We fell in love with a bed room set and made the decision that when we purchased a home we would buy it.
Fast forward a few months.
I am pregnant with our second child (YAY! More on that later) and we are house hunting. We decided to stop in and get the measurements of the bedroom set so that we could keep in mind the furniture size as we were house hunting. As we walked around we stumbled upon our dream couch. We had two couches that were both hand me downs, did not match and were extremely uncomfortable. They were both falling apart. We really, really needed a new couch so we decided to take the plunge and purchase the couch right then a there. It was a beautiful brown sectional sofa. It satisfied every need and want that our family could ever have. We decided to buy the set, the sofa, coffee table, end table, lamps and an entertainment center. Of course the Flat Screen was also thrown in.
Our set was delivered one week later.... I am getting ahead of myself...
The service was awful. I walked away a few times to keep from blowing my lid. THANK GOD hubster was watching her enter in the order because she double charged us more than once, double ran my card, and ordered the wrong items. After three painful hours we were out of there and on our way home. The couch was delivered by 3 nice guys from Florida. That was that.... so I thought.
Two days later the bottom fell out of the chaise part of the sectional sofa. I called to make a service appointment and informed them that the day they had available was ok but that I was in Physical Therapy daily until noon and would not be available until after 12. They said ok. I got a call a few days later that they would be coming to service the couch between 8 and 12. The exact times that I told them I would not be home. I called, complained, rescheduled and the same damn thing happened again... and again... and again. In the meantime we were waiting for parts for the entertainment center to show up. Yes, parts were missing and did not arrive until a week after they said they would. Hubster went to go put the center together finally and when he unwrapped the plastic wrap it was damaged. He tried to assemble the legs anyway (that was the part that was missing, that and the screws) and they sent the wrong parts so there we were calling Rooms To Go AGAIN to fix another problem.
Now here we are today. They still refuse to come after noon and think I should cancel my PT appointments or that Hubster should take off of work to make it convenient for them. Rooms to Go keeps telling me that as a customer I should be willing to bend.
Seriously, are they smoking crack?
I have had this furniture for two weeks and it has been nothing but problems. I would send the shit back but we already got rid of the old crappy couches. A couch should not fall apart after 2 days and an entertainment center that cost a boat load should not arrive damaged, missing parts and un assembled.
So I decided to do a search to see what others have had to say about Rooms To Go (check it out here , here, here and here and there are TONS more!) . I seriously should have done that before we purchased the furniture but my brain is fried due to baby hormones. The reviews were horrible and people had the same problems that we are having. In fact a lot were unresolved issues months later.
SHIT
So right now we have a damaged, part less entertainment center that we can not use, a couch that is BRAND NEW and is falling apart and a company that refuses to fix the issues.
Just what I need in my life, more crap!
Tell your friends and your family to research Rooms To Go before shopping there. Don't get screwed like we did!
